Question Mic Stands and Accessories for Field Recording

Hi- I just got a Sound Devices 702 and love it! I now need to get my mics ready for the field... for windscreens, etc. Rycote is the way to go , right? Any others?

Also- Where can I get good stands that breakdown well for storage. Ive seen people using a stand that is handheld, that comes to a T at the top, where you can attach 2 mics for stereo field recordings. Anyone know what this is called or where to get one?
Any other stores, sites to get stands?

Finally- I know that sounddevices makes a bag specifically for the 700 series. Anyone have there are they worth the price? Any alternatives?

THANKS

Porta Brace is one alternative. A very good one, in my opinion!

The T-shaped device you described sounds like a "stereo bar."

As far as mic stands, I like using a lightweight camera tripod with a thread adapter.

A boom pole also isn't a bad idea, as it can be used to get to things that may be difficult for a human to get near.

The boom pole is also a good idea if you're recording hand-held in public places. People get rather anxious when they see someone pointing a strange device with a pistol grip. On the other hand, when they see someone holding a boom pole, they often assume that a news crew is nearby.

Good point. I had the cops called on me once for walking around with a rycote with pistol grip. Apparently the person who called thought I was a potential terrorist. I laughed at the cops when they told me, but they didn't find it as amusing as I did.
