Question Fred Hersch's Night and the Music?

I've been listening to Fred Hersch's latest trio effort, Night and the Music, and I think it sounds great, musically and engineering wise. The credits list A.T. Michael MacDonald for recording, mixing, and mastering. Does anyone know how MacDonald works? I really like the sound of this recording and would like to be able to come close to its sound on my own trio recordings. Obviously, the players have a lot to do with it, but I'm wondering if any of you folks are familiar with MacDonald's recording techniques, especially as used on this recording. Or, if by chance you know how to contact him, I could ask him directly. Thanks.
