Can somebody recommend me good schools for doing Live Engineering skills. I've been a studio engineer for a couple of years, and lately I've been asked to do a lot of live gigs, and I'm finding a lot more work for live. For the most part I"m OK, but there are a lot of things that are very different from the studio and I would like to familiarize myself with these concepts. I know one way is to travel with somebody and learn but before I do that I would like to get some educational training. So if anybody knows of any good schools please let me know. Spiros |

Save your money and just go do it. What do you want to know? Ask it on here and/or find a mentor where you are. Where are you located anyway?

I'm currently in Athens Greece. I've moved here from NY. I"m going to go back to NY for a while, and figure since I'm back in the US I might as well learn a few stuff. There are lots like the concept of stage setups, speaker arrays, microphone techniques, calibrating, etc. I think school would help me out. Many thanks. eskay. |

| Proffesional seminars
Hi there, Going to seminars has the greatest benefit IMHO, due the fact that they are short and aiming to Sound engineers which leaves enough time to handle the "real" thing instead of going through the fundumentals. Best regards, Noam. |

Seminars seem to make the most sense. I guess I have to keep my ear open. Does anybody know of anything that is happening in the UK or the US??? Thanks. eskay. |

Yamaha and other manufacturers run classes on their live sound products... Look into getting into one of those; they’re free and IMO worth while for sure.
