need a compressor for live performances..........

buddha fingers Gear nut Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 84 Thread Starter	need a compressor for live performances.......... im a recording engineer that just got hired to do live sound. it is a smaller venue but i was just wondering what i should look for in a compressor for live sound. it wont be recorded, it just needs to sound good to the audience. the place has a Yamaha mg2414 fx mixer. not the greatest mixer and i know to use the efx on it sparingly. they mainly do hip hop shows at this spot. so how many compressors and what kind of compressor? our budget for compressors is $1,000-$1,500. thanks a lot guys buddha fingers
