Question German remote slutz - tourist info required!

Hi Guys,

I am thinking of taking a small holiday in Berlin. Because I value your opinions in relation to recording so highly, I thought to pick your brains about what to see, where to stay and, more importantly, where the museum of the microphone is based

All opinions welcome,

Cheers,

Hi Mosrite,

two things that immediately come to mind are the old East German Radio complex and the Neumann factory. The former is a must see because of all the cool studios and halls with their 50s/60s design, the latter because those guys are really nice and after they have shown you around they send you off with Neuman bags with t-shirts, ballpoints and other Neumann-logo-bearing stuff.
Now that Museum I really don't know, but if you ask at Neumann's they'll tell you. That is maybe it's themselves that you were asking about. Well, you'll find out.

A visit to the revitalized TELDEX studio is a must.

Also a visit to the former East German film recording stages.

As for a proper place to stay, I recommend a hotel with a Japanese bath. There you could submerge your entire body and be scrubbed by a 17 y.o. Japanese girl. I have done it. It was worth the rape of my pocket book.

Thanks guys, fantastic suggestions.

I had no idea if the 'museum of the microphone' actually existed but it sounds like the Neumann factory fits the bill nicely.

Any reasonably priced hotels / B+B's that anyone can vouch for?

i dont know if its reasonably priced. but a lot english speaking tourists are there and it is in the heart of trendy berlin.

if you need a cheap one you can pm me and i give you the adress of one which is around 65eur a night plus breakfest for a double bed room.
