| lots of talk in remote about isolating transformers, what about if i wanted just the transformers for d.i. inputs? and this is a stupid question, i suppose, but a d.i. balances and lowers impedance, right? I never really thought about it before, but this is, in essence, what a d.i. does. would you use a different transformer to just balance a line signal instead of an instrument output? i know it's stupid simple, but i could use some help thinking through this... basically my goal is to take a feed off of an unbalanced insert on a console to cheat a direct out, and send it back through the snake. the first thing i thought was shorted trs from the insert to a direct box and send it back through the 100 ft. of multi-pair. stupid, or sensible? |
