Talking EQ for classical music

Hi !
I'm wondering what kind of gear are used and what kind of EQ operations (master L/R or each track ?) are made on classical recordings ?

Thanks for explaining... or examples posting !

There are no general rules at all ... In ideal case, no EQ is needed. If a particular record calls for it, it is applied according to its needs ... For small EQ cuts, some good SW EQ is OK. For more intensive treatment a high quality HW EQ can bring better results.

I never track with EQ during classical gigs. I'd rather move or change the mic, and so would most classical recordists. Classical post-production often resembles mastering more than it resembles mixing. So begin with EQ's commonly used by mastering engineers, and eliminate those that have lots of their own color. What you're left with is things like these:

Analog:
Millennia NSEQ-2
Forsell version of above
Avalon (either transistor model)
Prism Sound Massalec

Digital:
Weiss (either model)
Z-Systems

Software:
Algorithmix (Red and Orange)
Refined Audiometrics (PLParEQ)
