I have been concerned about power sources in the facilities I record at. I seldom am in the same place twice. I’ll admit I know little about noise introduced by AC. My rig consists of 4 Schoeps mics, Earthworks 1024 mic pres and an Alesis HD24XR; I am currently using an inexpensive belkin UPS to prevent a hard drive crash with the Alesis unit. I have decided to purchase a Falcon UPS Plus unit. My hope is that my recordings will have a lower noise floor along with the battery back up function. The unit I am purchasing is a (Falcon SG1K-1T) the PDF brochure can be found on google. I would like to hear your opinions on whether my lower noise floor expectations are valid. Thanks, Rick |
