Hey, I am running sound for a live concert, but I need to record to Pro Tools at the same time. So what do I need in terms of a console or a signal splitter?

A good quality mic splitter, some mic pres, a solid PT rig and a way to monitor all the channels... Don't forget all the interface cables and such.

If you go this route, make sure that the board has direct outs that are pre-fader, pre-EQ. Or you could take your feed from the board's insert points, if it has those. Keep in mind that any adjustments that you make to your trim pots will affect both the house and the recording. Of course I'm assuming that you plan to record the raw tracks from the stage. If you are planning to mix to stereo in real time, that's a whole different process. | |
