Question Recording location in LA?

Hey guys,

I posted a thread last week looking for a place to do a voice and piano recording, but
I thought I'd post in this forum as well. I'm open to studios, but live stage situations would be great. I've already put in calls to USC, UCLA, CSUN, Citrus, Zipper, and Pasadena Civic Center. Anyone have other suggestions? I need a reasonable rate, a decent piano, and pretty good acoustics (duh).

Thanks!

Mike

In the other thread, I forgot to mention Daniels Hall at CSULB. A bit small, but not too bad.

You check out the Ambassador Auditorium that Harvest Rock Church has in Pasadena- It was used as a performance location for some of the film "Dreamgirls"

here is a link to their site-

I haven't recorded there but I saw a string quartet there & I thought the acoustics were quite good. That was probably 10 years ago, I don't know if anything's changed since then

Don't know about the piano in the Ambassador, but acoustically, it is one of the best halls in town. Was closed for a number of years, but has only recently re-opened. For anybody in LA, it is worth going to see a concert there. Great acoustics and a spectacular space.

They even have a Neumann QM-69 mounted in the ceiling that is in pretty good shape.
