Connectors thru wall of truck?

I've seen people asking this before. What are some ideas/pics of a twistlock power inlet and some snake mults that are on the outside of your mobile truck. I just got an extended Chevy van that I use to haul gear and I want to finish the interior so I can do some mobile dates in it this summer. I don't really care for putting cables though the window, but I am concerned about the affect of weather on exterior connections.

I uploaded some cool pictures from a little TV show we did some time ago...

I hope the link works for you...

Tell us if it doesn't.

There isn't a ton of interface panel shots, but check it out anyway -- You may find some interesting photos to brainstorm about.... Gigs, Rigs, Sets & Venues

We use a waterproof Hubbell connector (see picture) mounted on the side of the truck. And followed the same convention, L14-30, down the power cable to our distro box. They make panel mount as well as in-line versions. It's been great for us, even in torrential rain the connector stays bone dry inside. The downside...it's all pretty pricey. I think the truck mounted flanged inlet was about $130.

Steve will probably chime in here as well, but I would stay away from mounting any sort of multipin audio connector directly to the truck. Even with something like a MASS connector with a military style cap, you're exposed to a whole host of nasty elements. A better solution would be to use an access door and mount the audio connectors on a panel or in a box just inside.

I have my eyes on some cool metal ambulance style cable access doors, but in the meantime used a $30 8 x 8 plastic door that you can find at any good RV store. Also pictured above.
