Thread Starter | Ouch - Nagra Ares M - Format Problem - HELP!!!
Hi Slutz I recorded two meeting today using a Nagra Ares M in Stenography mode as we couldn't get a stenographer in time for an important meeting at a firm I am consulting, (as a trainer), for and they were aware of my background in Audio recording. Nagra worked like a dream and the files transferred to my hard drive easy as pie. Couldn't open the compressed files at work using Media Player or RealPlayer but wasn't too fussed, just sent them home to open them in Soundforge tonight. Still can't get them to open. They play fine on the Nagara, but I need to know that they can use them easily at the company concerned without further intervention. Looking at the Stenographer format used by the Nagra, it looks like the g.729a speech Codec that has been used. What am I doing wrong???? HELP!!! Reg

Thread Starter | Ahh! So it's a betamax thing!!!
Just an update to help the database. I have now spoken to Nagra UK / Switzerland and they are in touch with the sub-contract manufacturer. There are no functioning Codecs available for the format they have chosen, so I've recorded the material off through the unit's line out into a Mini-Me and laptop running Soundforge. Nagra promise a fix to this problem soon. Reg |
