I was sitting comfortable with the A&H ML 5000 and more outboard than they could deal with. The only problem was, the ENTIRE electrical hub for the whole building was right behind the stage. It was hell in that house of God.

Yup, but it's all good. How did you deal with that problem? |

| I actually found out there was a mix of a local radio stations transmissions getting into the line, as WELL as the hum induced into the amps (mainly bass amp) due to the power grid behind the wall. I tried a lot of stuff including ground lifts, different signal routing and all the basic tricks I know really. It never really resolved itself with any of those, untill I got weird and practical. I simply asked the bass player if he would mind moving his amp a couple feet away from the wall (as he had his amp right against it) and he was fine with it. The stage was large so he was afforded the opportunity. Then I went under the stage and wrapped a lot of regular house type tin foil around some specific problem cables, which pretty much took care of the radio waves. In the end I got better control of the bass, due to de-coupling it from the wall, no 6o cycle, and no radio waves. Haha I love when stuff ends up being the simplest approach to trouble shooting. Do you have any suggestions as to what else I could have tried? I know it wasnt a ground issue of any sort, just pure electromagnetic force, and probably a magnet the same size as the one in the Deathstars tractor beam. |

You nailed right on... Sometimes the simplest solution works the best. That's what I would have done. We had a similar problem during th Korn / Myspace thingy. The boys ran our analog snake right next to a huge power XFMR. We we had to do was move it away a couple of feet.
