Question Recording jazz guitar, using Acoustic Image amp?

For those of you that have knowledge or experience with this, how do/would you record Acoustic Image amps, especially with a jazz guitarist? While AI has a few different models, part of the basic AI cabinet design includes the use of a 5" front positioned midrange driver and a downfiring 10" woofer. While the cabinet can tilt back, the traditional "stick a mic in front of the grill" approach probably won't work with this cabinet design. How would you place a mic to faithfully capture the sound? And which mic(s) would you use? I'm particularly looking for suggestions that would work in a live setting where other instruments are playing in the same space. Thanks.

I would put the amp on the floor and use an RCA 77, relatively close to the front speaker and angled 45 degrees down. Don't put it so close that the wind from either speaker will hit the ribbon.

Thanks for the suggestion. I don't have access to a 77, but a ribbon of some sort might be worth a try.
