job update

Hi Thorer,
Just a quick update on my own particular job search. One important thing that I didn't know that I'm finding across the US and Uk is that most location recording companies have a very small number of staff and prefer to contract local freelance engineers for each specific recording date. See Steve Remote's sticky Nationwide - Local Crews Needed. I think I'll eventually end up moving, but I also need to investigate more local opportunities.

how about getting in with a large touring sound company-- work your way up, tour a bit, see the world.
work your way up to mixing monitors/FOH. Investt in a mobile rig, something with 48 i/o and start doing live concert recording, utilizing your touring contacts.

I do tthink you need to fish where the fish are.

best.
