| Yes. I'm always working to hear more in all music, and never less. Trying to enjoy everything, to find something in it. And the more I hear her the more I hear 'her'. Meaning, her energy as a person is what I hear. And it's not very pretty. We all can hear the notes as notes or as a vehicle for the person's energy, on a certain level of listening. As a professional I hear what the artist intends. In my free time I hear the artists energy. Now I dont know her at all and if I did maybe I would like her singing more, or less. What I get as a free-time listener now is empty, however. Sweating out the scales is empty. One hand waving like she feels it, that looks like theatre ... it all hits me as a con game of talent over content. As far as a past context to enjoy her present style .... what style is it exactly? All I get is her ego all over the assumed style. If there is a style that puts effort, ego, image and talent above all else, she wins. Yet if it's a Gospel style, where is the humble reverence for the divine? If it's RnB where is the vibe in it beyond an attempt at physical sex appeal gone wrong? I just dont get a context from her except 'I have pipes and I want to be famous, and if I show off and try real hard I will win them over'. Where is the effortlessness and grace of all great singers? I dont get that. Sincerity ... I do get that she's sincere, and sincelrely means to do well and to please us with her skills. Maybe in person it would be better?

Well I understand everybody's point of view. Yes i think is a little too much to criticize her...why? Because instead of bashing her so much I really think that the Performance of the Red Hot Chili Pepper was HORRIBLE! and FAKE! Such a bad song and such a horrible performance! I did not get Flea jumping like crazy all the time with such a passive - boring song!!! I know he is nuts and needs to adjust some screws on his head ..but are limits...that song don't have any energy and less with that boring performance and attitude!! not balls for what supposed to be a Rock band!! The singer Anthony K...REALLY Sucked!! he was so boring with expression, paralized and so focus into trying to sing OK....because he must know he really sucks as a singer ..and then when it was an instrumental started moving like a wild bad ass singer!! jajajaja was so ridiculous. Really was a bad song..specially for the Grammys! and a really boring performace! also I think they Fake too much specially Anthony K and Flea! I think Flea is a great bassist!! I do...but really , I did not buy his 'show'... was non sense and totally fake!!!! Chad Smith is and was great ...he is really a great drummer and was the best of the RHCP ....he helped the band to dont be totally a disaster! In top of that they Won the Grammy!!! wow I bought the album!! is a double album...so boring ..such a boring songs!!! really sucks!! The only song I think is great is "Danny California" can not believe that a band can not have more that one good song on a double album even with the help of Rick Rubin!! But PLEASE! can they try to write something else? Californication, Danny California...etc They are trying to hard to be the L>A Band!! and I am sorry!!! Motley Crue would be more L.A that The Red hot Chili Peppers!! Always!! Their next album single " I love California" Their next cover: 'Hotel California",,I hope not!! Hotel California with this guy on vocals would be a disaster!!!! but maybe very funny!!!! |

I like CA, she is not scared to be herself, but I must say this was not one of her best performances. As has been mentioned, no dynamics, but worst of all was that note dfegad that was so off key I nearly fell off my chair...and she stayed on it for 3 seconds. Ouch, Christina, could you not bend that up or down to a note in key? It seemed like she was thinking "ain't no other note but you." The girl has pipes, but on this night she did not do them justice.
