Post Practicality vs. Perception

Okay all you Slutz (and Tartz too) and friends of Audio Oracle. We are on another quest on behalf of our intrepid high-end truck user to find a low-end solution for an old Mackie. Hope it kicks off a good cross-forum discussion for you guys. Our user asks:

Quote:
We have always kept a Mackie 1604 mounted in a rack in the main control area just as a sort of catch-all for those unexpected things that just come up. It's flexibility has served us well as a back-up console, an applause sub mixer, a voice over mixer and well, you get the picture. On their way out the door one of my superiors noticed the venerable Mackie and announced that in the context of the rest of the upgrade it looked cheap and out of place and should be replaced. Hmmmm So, here I am looking for suggestions for a rack mountable mixer of not more than 10 vertical rack units, with a look that can only be described as "cool".
Any ideas, anyone?

The Midas Venice desk are an excellent replacement to the old sMackie mixers.

Would you like to buy a Trident S100? They fit the bill, while looking pretty cool, and sounding suprisingly good.
