Talking Auto-tune on Billy Joel @ Super Bowl

That was the WORST public example of auto-tune I've ever heard.

1. You're gonna put auto-tune on Billy Joel????

2. You're gonna just load it up with the default algo so that it sounds like SHIT????

Terrible (and it's not even over yet.)

Beat me to it too!! What IS he? A replicant?!

Funniest part was that you could actually hear him trying not to sing with anything anywhere near as flexible as his own natural voice, just so maybe he'd fool the auto-tune into not making him sound like the alien in the Carpenters song.

Even with AT on him, he STILL hit some real stinker notes there. I don't know which would have sounded worse, him with the AT, or him without it.

The sad part about it is most Americans don't realize that Autotune is what made him sound so freakishly bad. Sure he had to have been off a bit to be thrown onto the wrong notes to begin with, but they didn't even give him a chance. I hope he makes a public issue about this because it would be about time that some negative press has been given to using Autotune live like that, aside from a few recording engineers complaining about it on a recording forum.

Stop blaming autotune. Blame the people who chose to use it and the engineer who set it up and was too lame to turn it off when things started to go haywire!!!

Prince roasted Joels purple nuts I'll tell you. OMG that was Fing awful!!!!!

Prince mopped that jhoint dry and had sponge to spare. I wouldn't let Jukebox Billy be a freaking towel boy to the Purple One. A prime example of shit and shinola. For new school shinola is the REAL THING.

Amen

BJ should have went to a gulag a long time ago for stealing anything he could. Especially songs. IMHO. He was right there in Russia.
I guess they didn't know. He's a hack. IMO

Oh NO... Billy's gonna bleed. We need to send this to the mainstream media. for sure!!!
Let's remind them (hack singers) of who a responsible engineer is. This could help ALL of us a great deal. I say let's PROMOTE and UNCOVER the attempted COVERUP)
It's our responsibilty.

I doubt he really gives a f*ck either way..nothing to prove anymore unlike a young hack[IE:Ashlee Simpson] who has everything to lose.
the guy makes massive bucks playing corporate events alone.
he gets the big check and goes home to his hot child bride/Viagra

Come to think of it,Viagra is kinda like Auto tune for the penis
