Sure -- Why not?

It depends on the client, but it should not be a problem.

Oh, I was supposed to say yes...

Yes!

Since the first time I joined these forums and was welcomed by you, Steve, your generosity and eagerness to help has blown me away. You are indeed a prince among men!

(And I don't mean prince in a "formerly known as" sense...)

Thanks Doug and Steve! Very cool words.

We should setup a meeting at the field shop first with maybe a few of you folks.
Then, we can continue the tour at one of my gigs or over a few of them if there are more people involved.

We'll take notes and photos and share it with all of you Remotesters out there on a new thread...

Any takers? If so, let's start a list of people that want to come by...

How does that sound to you folks?

That sounds excellent. I would be completely up for whatever is possible. That is a very generous thing for you to offer. I'm sure we would all learn a lot from just stepping foot into your shop.

I would enjoy that, especially after seeing U B K's post. I'm in Ky but I find myself in the northeast a few times a year for work/family.

Count me in!

Okay, let's find the best time point for the folks that are traveling the farthest.
Then we''ll schedule it in to the early 2007 calendar.

I'm flexable... but I will be in the area (Baltimore) on Feb. 18th - 21st. I can hop on a train to NYC pretty much anytime on those days.

There's a big white space on my calendar during those dates, too. Although, this slow season is leaving a lot of space on that calendar. I can hop on a train from Trenton any time, so just let me know.

Hey Cliff,

It was nice to meet you today.

Thanks for dropping by and stuff.

Maybe we'll see you again some time soon.

Also, as it turns out I'm booked from the 18th thru the 24th on two different date that does not include my gear of mobile units, so we must try to make another day happen.

Perhaps in March during the Conrad Herwig date at the Blue Note. You folks are welcomed to stop by the field shop and/or the club.

Keep me posted via this thread, PM, email or by phone.

Steve,

I would love to see your vocation in action! No firm dates available for me yet but is the offer still on the table? I would be travelling from Toronto if it makes a difference.

Best Regards,
-Scott H

I still would like to as well. We had talked about setting more of a group meeting at one point, but is it looking like that's not going to happen? It's up to you, Steve. Would a one-time shot work out better for you? I don't want you to fill up your time giving tours of your facility and having to make time at gigs.

It really depends on our schedule -- Anything can happen...

If possibile, a group meeting would work best, but I'm flexible.

That's what I figured. It just seems that no one is taking the initiative on this. Maybe nobody knows their schedules for the next month or two. Come on, guys, some of you coming from farther away than an hour (me) post up and let's schedule something.

Steve was kind enough to mention a session in march that might be a suitable time for myself to come and learn the ropes. Perhaps we could make it a group event? Steve?

FYI I am unaware of the dates as of this point, but my march is seemingly free so I may catch a flight down / drive.

The window would be March 14th through the 18th, 2007.
I understand that the client wants to record on the 16th and 17th, but it may change to the 17th and the 18th.

Wow, that is a gracious offer Steve. I don't know if I can make it, but that experience sounds like it would be worth a trip from Miami, Fl. I will check on airfares. What is the best airport to fly into in the NY area? Let me know if the offer is open to neophytes (that would be me ). The budget is tight down here after all I have invested in gear recently, but the opportunity seems priceless. I would be willing to help with any grunt work also. Let me know.
Best Regards,
Mario

The 17th would be perfect for me. I'm working the 16th and 18th, but I could let someone else cover one of those dates if I need to. Mario, if you don't mind a 2 hour train ride then you might check out airfare into Philadelphia. I have priced tickets a lot lower flying out of Philly compared to the others in the area.

That sounds great! I can't make it but I think it'd be worth it to just make an appt with Mr. Remote, buy plane fair, hotel and skip over to NYC. It'd be worth every penny just to do it.

I think this thread has kind of migrated into this one:
How about a Spring 2007 Remotester's Luncheon in NYC?

Dinner and a Gearslutz orgy at Aura Sonic.
