| WPIX -- what a seriously cool thread! Remember WPIX-FM Braodcasts (1979)? Which brings me to a question.... The WPIX thread, the Miles Davis thread Another Kind of Blue - the Latin Side of Miles Davis / The Remotester's thread and probably many others I'm unaware of would be of great interest to those who would have no way of finding them unless/until the thread is bumped, like these ones. I wonder if there is a way or if anyone would be interested in developing a mechanism where threads such as this get archived and tagged somehow as "hall of fame" or similar. What do others think? |

| This sounds like an interesting concept. Let me think about it. What would be considered "hall of fame" material? I feel the WPIX thread would, but I'm not sure if the "Miles" thread is because the record is a Miles tribute and not Miles... Maybe in a few years it could be considered "hall of fame" material. Or should it be consider a HOF thread today? Should HOF entries be based on the thread content or the status of the event or persons involved? Does anyone else have a thought or thread to add to the hall of fame tag? I placed a hall of fame tag on this and the WPIX thread for starters. What do you folks think about all this?

| I just added a bunch of "hall of fame" tags to a few threads. I also, created a "Best of RPIAM&LR" tag. If you folks see a thread that you feel needs one of these tags post it here or PM me and I will add it if it's applicable.

this is not a thread about location recording/acoustic music, but i always have thought the thread, 'Q for Paul Frindle' from the mastering forum is worthy of 'Hall of Fame' status, even though it is not that old: http://gearslutz.com/board/showthread.php?t=69929 it is so full of useful info that it's incredible to me...... ~j.d.

My I suggest for you to bring this up to the Mastering Forum moderators. IMO, a "best of mastering" tag would be very cool. I really want to keep our tags close to home. If we don't there will be a lot of cross searches between the various forums... If we're searching on the remote forum do we really want to gather threads from other forums? This is why I name the tags like I do. Most folks will use the plural. IE: Mics instead of mic; Speakers instead of speaker; et cetera, etc.

| Remember, if you have a thread (from this forum please) that should get a "best of..." or "hall of fame" tag let me know. If it makes sense I'll make it so. Does it sound fair to you folks?
