Thread Starter | Well, here it is. I have been through several different setups in the past but recently moved out of state. I sold all my equipment to help finance the move and I now have enough gear to at least go out and do a small job. This is the gear I am determined to stick with for a little while, adding to it until it's actually a nice rig. Right now it's just a MOTU 8Pre and a rackmount hard drive. http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h7...as/studio2.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h7...as/studio3.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h7...as/studio6.jpg Now, imagine this rack with a power conditioner on top, blank space under the MOTU for an additional 8Pre or 8 channel preamp, 2 space drawer for the laptop, 3 space drawer for accessories (headphones, Sharpees, snack food, etc.), and I'm wanting to put my microphones in the bottom. The red case is holding my mics now, but I want to consolidate into the main rack. I have searched for a 6-space drawer but haven't had any luck, maybe they aren't made. I would go with a 4, but I don't know if a standard "pencil" condensor will fit vertically in only 4 spaces. Any suggestions? |

| I may have a six space rack in stock... Want me to look for it? Also, test how your equipment will react by placing the UPS by them. The UPS can induce noise or hum to sensitive equipment. I would the ups low in the rack away from all equipment and such.

Thread Starter | You think you have a 6 space rack drawer? That would be awesome. ...just next time you think about it... It's not a UPS, per se, but a Furman power "conditioner" (although I'm not sure how much "conditioning" it will really do). It is the kind with pull-out lights, so bottom-racking it may cause my friends to point and laugh at me. If it causes any problems then I'll get one without lights for the bottom of the rack. I need another unit for my bass rig anyway. |
