| P.A. in a church - lots of issues. We're thinking of putting most of our reliance into wireless lav mics for maximum flexibility, but we have a podium mic that we can't get rid of. I'm looking for a wireless transmitter/receiver that provides phantom power through a standard XLR ... the transmitter could be powered from a wall wart or 110 AC ... anyway, all the wireless gear I've turned up is body packs or handheld mics.

| Okay. I use Earthworks podium mics, they sound flippin' great. But when I need a wireless podium, I use a Shure podium mic, with a Shure bodypack transmitter. Piece of cake. The Podium mic uses a TA4F connector (like a Beta 98) and has a TA4F-to-XLR barrel adaptor, the UA, UB, and newer UHF-R series all have male TA4F connections and work great with Beta 98 capsules, which is the same element as their (MXR?) podium mic. Simple & easy. Does not sound AMAZING, like a Neumann, Schoeps, or Earthworks sound podium mic . But damn, it works. |
