Quick Question : Fruity Loops and Chainer! How?

I love the chainer (take random instruments and make 1 combo out of them)

but it doesnt open in Fruity Loops...

I was wondering

1. is there a way that i can work many tracks at the same time in fruity? ex/ I have a trumpet, a piano and a bass and i want to press the controller keys and have them all play at once as one instruments...

or

2. is there a way I can get the chainer to open in Fruity...or some other chainer thats available...

thanks in advance!

Ahh Fruity Loops Damn I remember those days.. Its come a long way since Fruity Loops 3 and even longer from the first one but I digress I havent seen any of the new versions but FL Studio as they call it now is easy enough that u can just record your midi tracks and then copy each channel to what ever other channel u want to each the same midi info what I would do to humanize it more was to select all in the piano roll edit window and just move each one over just a little bit on each track so it had a little more human feel to it as far as ur program no I dont kno wthe ans but thats a work around u can take advantage of and unless your using rewire to protools the sound engine sux... Good teaching tool tho and great way to make a million beats in 5 minutes for local people when your trying to come up wit cash for real equipment Hope that ans ur question

rieces, your beats are tight, but honestly you don't know what you're talking about here :)

the sound engine in fl is excellent, and right up there with cubase or logic. there have been tests to even prove this.

rookie - look into the layer channel (add one - > layer) look it up on the FL site if you have more questions. after you add the layer channel you can assign multiple channels to that layer.

all you need to do is right-click the little indicator light next to each channel you want to select (to select multiple) and click the "assign children" button in the layer channel.

that way you can have all instruments hit on one key press.

check the flstudio site for a tutorial.

on the chainer thing - not sure, but then again i don't use chainer....

ps: you should really ask these kind of questions on the fl forum....it's for registered users - and you ARE a registered user right?

come back when you want a tutorial on how to use the layer channel to make your own drumkits :)

then you can program all your one-shots in the same piano roll :x

lol thanks for the compliment Cynic no offense taken I shouldve said in my opinion the sound engine didnt sound that good compared to some of the other programs I moved on to (maybe at that time my mixing skills weren't the best either ;-) ...) and it has been years tho since Ive messed wit the fruity but great advice tho

Here's the easiest way... if FL is not your only app.... use midi sends. In the graphic below whenever I hit a midi note in Cubase on track 1 it will also trigger four additional sounds in FL on chanels 1-4. (in the graphic send 2 should be going to ch 3, instead of 2, I selected the wrong ch.)

You can do this with hardware synths or anything that receives midi. Any midi sequencer should allow that. Well except maybe PTLE... :)

A midi send is like an audio send except it sends the midi note(s) instead of digital audio, select the target and go. This track would give a sound with 5 layers, the original midi target and the four sends.

If I wanted (for instance) FL ch2 to be an octave higher I'd add a track control effect and transpose it before sending. As it is, there are no effects as none are needed to just send the notes to other devices.

This is how I layer drum sounds with Cubase and FL or layer pianos and basses to make them fatter.
