I got one about a year ago, and was into it in about a week. Just make a few simple beats with the manual around, then it becomes second nature (I can name a song on those pads faster then I can type now). Then when you think you've mastered it, read up on some online tips. They'll blow open a lot cool ideas. Then listen to prefuse 73, and you'll realize you STILL havent mastered it...

Cosign on that one.

If you can get to the pont that you can drop everthing through the menus without ever using the pads you are good.

The fastest way to learn the MPC? Read the manual. The MPC is simple, it should take an hour or 2 max to learn everything you need to know to start making tracks IF you actually read the manual instead of just winging it.

Read the Fkin Manual.

I hate it when people ignore the obvious INSTRUCTIONS, that come with a device, but expect to learn to work it.

When the company made it, they had a feeling you woulnt know how to work it.

SO with each product, they include a magical little book of instructions.

Honestly, all jokes aside, if you have worked other midi gear, most manuals are written the same. It's not hard to work. Read the book
