Thread Starter | Yeah, OK its a sample, fine... but that guitar was recorded once! Sorry, I should have been much more specific... What guitar do I need for that sound? My guess is its a specific guitar. Its not a stratocaster, I think... Can you tell I'm no guitar player?? Thing is I've been looking for that exact sound for a while... Those short, funky sort of choppy licks that are so cool... Any guitarist around who can shed some light? ![]() |

| I don't know the song to well but from what i remember it didn't sound like a sample , if it was it was played in by someone and sampled for effect to get the repeats and starts and stops ...... Also what i remember is not so much the sound, that can be replicated by a number of guitar choices , from pick-ups in neck position or semi-acoustic jazz style guitars , what i will say is that that way of playing is more a style ! A lot of those types of guitars are also straight to D.I./pre .. Paul Jackson jnrs famous funcky pop was D.I.'d ..... |

Thread Starter | that was more like the kind of answer I was looking for. Thank you. I guess I have to bring this up with guys with more of a guitar background. No other input as of which type of guitar? |

Honestly M Teus , i think what you like even more than just the guitar tone is that type of playing and the inflections used , as far as guitar you could get a similar tone by just plugging in a tele or strat and whacking the pick-up in neck position or even a combination of middle pick-up and neck pick-up ,likewise a nice Joe Pass Epiphone will also do the trick and give you a fuller sound again , then it is up the guitar player and how he plays and his feel , even different picks give you different tones where guitar is concerned .
