Thread Starter | Some Quick Opinions Please... Reference Headphones
I have searched all through out and read all through out I have looked through google as well and I have come to realize I cannot seem to find a standard reference headphone for either Hip-Hop or Dance Music production.SO, I am considering the following, please advise on your experiences regarding low-end reproduction, accuracy and comfort. - AKG K601 - $199 (my gut feeling is saying roll with this) - Sennheiser HD600 - $215 (i am hearing lots of great things, but it seems to all be from pop and non-urban and dance music folks) - AKG K240 - $99 (someone mentioned this may have a bit more bass reproduction. Is it more or more accurate?) - oh, almost forgot to mention - AKG K271 - $189 (haven't really heard anything about these... until i just read a few reviews i found on the net that compliments the accurate and deep bass repsonse) Any thoughts? I'm basically looking for a set I can wear for some detail checking and quick referencing. Then, nce in a while - some late night mixing (although not my final mixing). Thanks In Advanced, Shane BTW I tried out the UltraSone today... dman, i forget which one... i think it was 550... hmmm that sucks... well, they were overly harsh sounding and the bass seemed a bit too hyped... i also tried beyer 770 and liked those more but felt it wasn't WOW... but i def enjoyed the feel and warmness over the loud ultrasones...

| http://www.ultrasone.com/htdocs/08_f...line_index.php the 750's are great look at the freq response. NONE of the other headphones mentioned here can touch that. So if you wanna talk reference and detail... |
