If you were recoding Scarface...

what microphone would you use?
or any other DEEP VOICED rap artists

just looking for some suggestions to try out...i sold all of my equipment (aea r84, soundelux e47, soundelux ifet7) and i'm in the market for some mics
what should i try

Its hard to go wrong with a U87...a good pre/eq will help as well

Dub C used to insist that we use the U87 on EVERY track. But one day I pulled out the bottle with the B6 and he fell in love. When I'm doing more indie tracks, I use a mic with less fidelity to match the musical production value... something like a EV RE20.
