Help With Mic+Preamp Combo

There's an upcomin' project from this spanish rap group ( www.myspace.com/ladinastia ).

I'd like to know some opinions of what mic or preamps do you think fit better to those kind of voices.

I got acces to anything from c800g, 1073's, almost anything. I know I should experiment and conclude what is the best sounding mic or piece of equipment for them, I just would like to know some opinions from ya'll experience.

also any tips on recording and mixing are appreciated.

Hey, it's all good stuff, but that's a pretty general question.

Just any random tips?

I mean any tips for mixing "them", I find their voices different from regular rap in english.

They have deep voices something a lil like lloyd banks but with many sibilants and ess'.

so my question is what mic or preamp would you use on them, just your opinion.

yeah, the 2 popfilter could work, what about mics and preamps?

do you think the 1073 pre + c800g could work on them?

their beats are mostly sampled, something like just blaze style and some are played so those are better to mix.

would you eq their voices a lot or leave em mostly with a fair amount of compression and thats it?

It's tough to say. The C800G does NOT work on everyone, therefore I would say the U87 would be a better choice, because it will not sound horrible on anyone, unlike the C800G....

As far as EQ & compression... That's something that only you & your ears can judge when you have the raw tracks in front of you at the mix stage... Although, I will say I always compress slightly when tracking.
