Why "recorded" and then "recorded and mixed" ??

Just read the booklet in PE Fear of a Black Planet CD - what confuses me is there is stated:
programmed: .....
recorded:........
recorded and mixed:.......... on the Neve (!)
why the second "recorded" is there ? was there some re-recording procedure before mixing?

alot of albums are recorded by different engineers... not everything is done in the same studio by the same engineer. That goes for a single song too.
