| above basic mixing techniques Id like to know some mixing techniques that i can use in my computer based editor (excuse my illiteracy on the technical name) i already have dynamic processing comming through my preamp. I generally just eq low mids and highs at 3.3 -2.4 and 3.4 (roughly) then add a little reverb with the stock adobe audition 'tight and close.' add backup vocals and all done. I add de esser if needed. im looking to make the mixes sound a lot better. i have waves 5.0,wave arts, wavelab, cubase ( the effects from that), altiverb and a load of vst plugins. Im wondering what i can do to make a better sounding mix. I understand theres no sure way of doing it every time but just some suggestions would be cool. Apreciate it. |

| Go out and buy the october issue of sound on sound magazine. There is a massive article about mixing and how to get your mix sounding like a 'mix'. good luck!
