What's up people. I premuturely sold my mpc 2000 xl before finding a solid replacement. I had planned on using cubase vst but the timing with my setup just plain sucks. I have looked at programs from fruity loops, abelton live, acid but the only thing that I have found with timing as tight as I am used too is sawstudio with the midi workshop plugin but its causing me to totally change the way I work because it doesn't have a smooth loop. Just wanted to see what you guys were using for real tight timing without having to do work arounds. My audio interface is a yamaha i88x and I still have 2 dsp factories cards laying around and a tascam usb428 that I could use if need be. |

I cant find anything that is as intuitive or more fun to sequence on then a MPC. It also doesnt hurt that I learned on a MPC first, and know the sequencer very well.Thats just me, you may dig your software sequencer, Dont get me wrong Logics sequencer is damn good even better than a MPC just not as FUN>. I have tried them all and i like the MPC best. So I now sequence reason 3/protools, or logic 7 w/ mpc and I feel that I have the best of both worlds. My advice would be try other peoples setups and see what suits your needs. I feel your pain I was once there, I had to bite the bullet and buy a another MPC> good luck |

I'd either get the MPC back or just learn to sequence in cubase and learn the workarounds if you already have it. I just track my loops into Nuendo and sequence there since I use software synths. The timing will be off, but it's adjustable. I take 4 bar or 8 bar loops and tweaking those and just copy and paste and then tweak those as a complete song. Your workflow will change, but it's good to be versatile if you have the time to do it. My laptop just went haywire on me so for now I loop on the MPC 1000, just beats and samples. That's until I get a new computer in. It's always good to have more than one workflow just in case.... |

Maybe I stated that wrong. When I used software synths my timing was off just by a lil bit. Very small tweaks were needed. Tracking from hardware the timing will be A-1 steaksauce or (fill in your preference of steaksauce).
