How to get this vocal effect!?

anybody know how to get this type of effect or what plugins can achieve this? presets would b a bonus.

sansamp distortion or any distortion/amp plugin(amplitube, amp farm, etc.) will give you that effect. You are talkin bout the shout outs and not the singin, right? It also sounds like the vocals been eqd with the bass rolled off, telephone style. As far as presets, screw round with that sh*t til it sounds good to you. That sample snds like the pressence is boosted up a bit and not too much crunch (the sans will crush a samp if you let it). and now that I listen again, there is a tempodelay on that voctrack as well, sent post dist effect..

Try a reverse reverb setting on an eventide H3000 or later model...

Yeah, I assume you're talking about the reverse reverb. On your vocal track, reverse the portion that you want to add the effect to, print a reverb effect, then re-reverse the portion so that it's normal again. The reverb tail will "rush up" to the vocal.

i wasnt talkin about the reverse reverb effect. i was talkin about the distorted shouting. the first reply got it right.

any EQ plug-in with "telephone" setting.

then send to a distortion aux (izotope trash, or any other) and tweak to taste.
