What about Reason and it's Reason Drumkits Refill? Isn't that good?

Oh you just want single hits? Start with the Black2Black sampling CDs or the modern beats stuff? These drumhits were discussed in lots of threads here!!!

My advise: sample your own from your favorite songs and layer them with a machinedrum or a jomox airbase or another good drumsynth! this is hiphop!

get Stylus RMX from Spectrasonics.
It comes with 10000 hits and 500 drumkits all tailormade for urban music.
you can mangle the hits with a shitload of internal effects plus you get a superb collection of breakbeats on top that can be played back at any tempo without any artifacts whatsoever.

Can you use the data of stylus independent of the interface,,, for instance load the stylus samples into battery or kontakt??

Seems like the easy way out to use that Stylus with all that standard loops, ild rather use my own creativity.

you don't have to use the loops..as Dr. Wu said..there are 10,000 single hits that you can use to program drums in the sequencer of your choice

why would you wanna load the samples into Battery?
RMX is a much more powerful environment when it comes to mangle drumsamples.
Each drumhit can have 3 MultiFX plus dual filters, LFOs,envelopes, sample start etc plus you have another 4 send effects plus masterbuss effect for the kit.
You can also apply the chaos engine to certain sounds so you get crazy buzzes or reverse sounds and pitchshifts when you activate the chaos button (which can even be automated BTW)
Plus you can assign absolutely any parameter for a sound to a MIDI control change and go wild in realtime after you laid the beat down.
Its insane!
thumbsup

and yeah-i am talkin about the drumkits.

You may also layer them with other samples! However you like. If you get a bit into sampling you will soon notice that you can achieve more individual results this way!

maybe i was a little harsh on modernbeats...some tips:

only use them to mold your drums to a new entity....then the attack on such on the drums could possibly be useful

Sirocco any word on that library of yours? :D Also I'm curious, before when you said you were using URS plugins, I don't have a lot of exp. with those. Which ones are you finding most useful, and for what?

And on an unrelated note, Modernbeats sounds are just like a lot of other sounds, you have to dig and dig and then you find some gems. You may go through 20-40 sounds before you find 1 or 2 that you really like. But they bite pretty hard by default, so if you don't have the capability to bring that character out of drums by yourself, they can be a good place to start.

my library is a dvd that will be out soon - im currently in the web enterprise stage of the project-keep ur eyes peeled to the new product forum over the next few months thumbsup

and the urs....wow....i love every plugin....i like to use the fulltec at a slight 16k air boost...it doesnt give a harsh hi-end crap sound..but just creates a bit of candy coating over ur mix or vocals (think mariah carey)...and out of all the plugins for drums...i love the a10 the most..it just gives me the sound im looking for...almost everytime..

on the compression side, i prefer the sonalksis - check em out!
