Can a walk-in closet really work as a vocal booth??

So about to move into a new apartment. I have a nice 12x15ft. room to setup my gear. The room also has a 4x5ft. walk-in closet.

If treated with some 703, would the closet work well as a vocal booth?? Id pretty much be recording hiphop vocals exculsively, so I dont really need a room sound. And my goto mic is usually a SM7b.

Arent ISO booths typically around the same size?

If you are not too worried about sound isolation, it should probably work fine. If you treat it with 703, you should be able to create a suffiently dead space to get a good recording. But, you might find that your main room (if treated) comes out sounding better after all is said and done.

yup. i've used closets and even the spot under a staircase with very good results. I ususally treat at least 70% of the surface above 2' to keep it supa-dry.
