Melodies Looping Over 3 Bars as Opposed to 4 Bars

Man.... I'm really messing up my theory here.

So, I have a chord structure that loops/reoccurs after 3 bars as opposed to 4 bars with the beat at standard 4/4. This is great for 12bar verses but I'm kinda losing myself here and am looking for some examples. If you could post some up, that would be great.

Not quite Virtual insanity type melody, it just basically loops every 3 bars.

Any way, looking for some examples of this. I know there are plenty but I've got nothing.

A well known is this one.

I think they(Tribe) had some more with that 3 bar loops. I'm not so familiar with the Dilla discogrphy but I guess he had some too.

Isn't De La's - Stakes is High founded on 3 bar structural format ?

Oh damn... Tribe and De La ... thanks for that.

I've been meaning to watch the QTip lecture, just haven't been able to find the time.

I can see what he means in that it makes the loop more interesting and almost gives it a "never ending" feeling (if you know what I mean haha)

Great call with the electric relaxation I never even realized that was a 3 bar loop!!!

I love making beats with 3 bar loops

I was looping some obscure ish the other day.. Then I realised it's 3 bars long.. Didn't finish it. Now I'll have to revisit that sample. Thanks for the perspective Gearslutz!

That's exactly what I was thinking when I first read his post.
