pt 7 issue importing audio

i just upgraded to PT 7 and am having problems with the import audio to track function. I used to be able to import audio from anywhere on any drive, now it seems i can only import audio if i place it on my desktop. I know it is not just my system because ive had this problem in a few different studios. Anyone have a lue?

Hmm, works "ok" for me.
I can import audio from anywhere (I'm on a PC).

Ocassionally it will become unstable when I import really big WAV files (i.e. 45+ min long DJ mix).

Might wanna check the DUC

PT in general is getting kind of wack to me.
For the money it costs sh*t sure is finnicky as hell.
Nuendo or a HD recorder starting to look more tempting every project...

Tried to post this before, some reason never appeared!

Have you tried looking at the "project workspace" settings? sometimes drives get set so they're marked as read only or whatever - you need them all set to record volumes.

Doesn't sound like this is the solution to your problem but might be worth checking....
