Thread Starter | ascap or bmi? Hi, I am workin on a long-distance project with a guy from L.A. (im from Canada) and I was posed with the question of whether or not I am ASCAP or BMI. Im a 17 year old unsinged producer. First of all, what is ASCAP and BMI and second of all, would I fit in either one? |

| ASCAP is a membership association of U.S. composers, songwriters, lyricists, and music publishers of every kind of music. http://www.ascap.com/index.html BMI is a similar organization.. http://www.bmi.com/ Unless you are actively making music that is being commercially released it's probably not something you need. |
