I NEED A WAH!!!

is there a specific setting for a plug-in or a specific module that can produce a realistic wah effect on un-wah'ed keyboard or guitar chords?? other than a pod or similar type thing? the wah effects on my motif sound crappy, i was wondering if i could use a series of basic eq and phase effects to make it happen... IF NOT, maybe somebody has some good wah samples they would be willing to trade, that would be cool too...maybe a real guitarist may have a couple they'd be willing to donate

A wah is just a band pass filter. So if you could load up an eq plugin, set up a single band, and maybe assign it to your mod wheel, the you could use it as a wah. I'm pretty sure that's all you need to do...

You could get a wah pedal. There are worse things you could spend $$$ on for your studio arsenal. Then you would always have one for use on keys, guitar, bass, etc. Or buss existing tracks out to it, and record back into your DAW while working the pedal.

The whole magic of a wah pedal, comes from the user/player having control over the footsweep. You can get very creative with it in an infinite variety of ways. I cannot imagine a plugin, or keyboard effect patch, ever being close to satisfactory in that regard.

One of the main reasons I got ahold of this vintage Fender FuzzWah, is because of its legendary pedigree - it was used by Herbie Hancock during his Headhunters era. Sound amazing on keys.

Yeah right? Which also means: You now have only one hand to play the keys with...not optimal.

Proper wah technique: Both hands on the keys, with the foot working the wah pedal.
