What's more important?

I'm getting a Motif ES rack and MPC 2000xl to go with my Projectmix and Protools setup. I have about $700-$800 in play. What do I do?

1. Right now Native Instruments Komplete 3 is on sale for $700, which is almost half off. It's got a ton of stuff in it like all kindss of sounds and plug-ins

2. would a channel strip, pre amp, or rack-mounted analog eq be a better way to go, get less sounds and plug-ins, but have something nice to run my MPC through AND something to run a mic through for live recording. If so, what do you reccommend. Anything in particular?

3. Or is there any other hardware or software you could reccommend that would be more vital to what I'm trying to do? Soft synths, racks, anything that would make the best of that 7-8 hundred dollars.

Right now I'm leaning toward the NI package because of current price, but I'd like experienced opinions.

Thanks, guys.

This is coming from a minimalist, but I wouldn't drop $700 on more virtual synths unless I really wanted to change my sound. You should be in great shape with the ES as far as sounds go. Unless you're ditching the MPC, u won't need Battery or Kontakt really.

I'd probably invest in a new preamp or some new fx plugins.

Get a preamp of some kind.. I'll be trying the Chameleon Labs 7602 in the next week or two, and that's in your budget...

I'm not telling you that I think you should buy the 7602. But, if you can wait a week or two I can give you my thoughts on it.

I may on occasion talk about some of the products I am a dealer for in my posts.. and that's OK! I sell them because I like them. Not vice versa. It's more fun to talk about things you know and love, then things you don't.

Well, I just got one, so we'll see. I've had too many reccommendations and was on a time budget, so I had to do it. I only got one, though, so I'll be running mono. Any reccommendations on how to utilize this with my motif rack, ProjectMix, Reason and ProTools?
