Is It OK to bring a microphone on a plane?

I'm taking a trip soon and I need to bring my TLM103. I was wondering if its safe to fly with mics? The metal detectors kinda scare me. Plus this things in a case that kinda looks suspicious. They might think I'm packing.

If so, what do you guys do...carry on or in with the luggage?

Carry on. I've done it a couple of times with multiple mics. I wouldn't trust baggage with anything but clothes and toothbrushes.

Just don't tell them if you're packing a "shotgun" mic, that might set off a few bells.

I wouldnt bring ANYTHING on a plane with me today.

When I came to New Orleans from Philly, my G4 was a "carry on".
