Thread Starter | decent hiphop brass samples needed
hi all, as in the title, i'm in need of some good quality samples for programming hiphop. not quite sure where to look to be honest. brass sounds are proving tricky to find. i also need drum samples and bass samples - any advice on the best sample CDs to buy would be fantastic, thanks guys, -hazza. |

very little. at the moment, most of my sounds are coming from Battery 2 and the Logic bundles. i have some orchestral samples from eastwest, but the brass sound from them really doesn't suit what i'm looking for. cheers, -hazza. |

I was recently in the same boat... Trying to find stabs and sounds for every snappy and dynamic big bnad stuff... Orchestral brass samples just can't handle it. Having looked around it is down to Garritan Jazz & Big Band or Arturia BRASS. I'd check out those two. |

I've posted the exact same question (but on the right forum). This post had a great success and lots of reply, but for me the bottom line is : Fablesound - Broadway Brass (for Jazz like brass) Chris Hein - Horns (for solo brass instruments, every styles) Project SAM - Horns Section (for orchestral brass) Here's the link to the post : http://www.northernsounds.com/forum/...162#post430162 HTH, Zacchino |

if you are looking for hits, chords, fallls and stabs i can recommend the Greg Adams Bigband Brass DVD from Big Fish. http://www.bigfishaudio.com/4DCGI/detail.html?721 its mostly about riffs but it also comes with an extensive collection of polyphonic hits. They sound kickass and dropped into a beat with the right eq and a touch of vinyl noise the sound like lifted from an old jazzrecord. |

it seems to me that a lot of brass stuff i hear in hip hop is very Roland-ish. Maybe a 5080 or 2080.

yeah im reawlly looking for those brass samples. my trick is that i use the eastwest orchestra which sounds soooo reall, that i have to lo fi it so it sounds trashy. so a lot of compression, bitcrushing, downsampling/bitreducing. also |

I guess you're just a dumb ass who wouldnt understand. If I see someone selling an audio service, (especially one touting their quality as opposed to something else), I expect a certain degree of quality, especially when its someone playing trumpet that I can out play. I have a hunch that it's YOUR site, so since everyone has to start somewhere: You can start here: fuuck | |
