need help connecting microkorg to fast track pro and recording stereo!!!

so before i was able to record into logic midi. then i bounce and bring it back in. it was stereo or mono. depending on what i chose for the track in the mixer.

now i moved back in october to a new house and had to unplug the cable and all that. i thought i knew how to set up again, but i guess not. i can only record in mono and i dont like that cause not every sound is mono on the microkorg.

i have a 1/8 stereo y cord. 2 go into the Left and Right outputs on the microkorg and the last 1/8 goes into an input on the back of my fast track pro interface. i remember how to record midi and i do it fine. thing is i cant do stereo.

i did try this. i took one of the cables out of the microkorg and used one. it played but in one ear. i moved that same cable to the other output and same thing. then i did the same with the next 1/8. it did not work at all. i know the cord works because i use it with my headphone amp. i dont have enough so i switch the cord to wherever i need it. i also no its not the microkorg because atleast one of the 1/8 works in both outputs.

what can i do to fix this? i forgot how i did it before. this is my first serious time using this since i moved.

At the back of the Microkorg, there's the Output Section (right next to Headphones), where it's written Left/Mono and Right. Use 2x 1/4 cables and send them to each of the pres on the fast track pro. Then choose stereo in your Daw, done.

I have that. Except I use a y cable. I know it is mono but before I moved I was able to record stereo. I know because when I record know its on side when you look at the wav. When you look at my older files its stereo. I just don't know If I had it set up like I used to. I'm sure I am though. It's just when I do this only one side wants to work. On my headphone amp this cord works fine

Go get those 1/4 cables, it's not that expensive and it's simpler to setup.

doesnt using a splitter just sum the stereo image leaving the korg into the fast track pro to mono, then the daw interprets it as parallel mono?
