| MPC 3000 Chops for the ones who know well a 3000 Is there a quickest way to chop samples in the 3000 than this?: 1- Record the sample (let's say a 2 bar loop of nice strings from an old record). Then save the sound to memory. 2-Assign it to a pad, press program+2 poly:mono, and with program+6 edit the sample setting to the start of the first chop. 3-After that, press program+7 and copy the file to another one, name it, repeat step 2 but set the start point for the second chop. 4-Repeat steps 2 and 3 if needed, depending on the way the beat is going. 5-After all these steps are done, press program+2 and set the cutoffs to the notes that will follow the rythm of the new sampled composition. (let's skip the part of setting the tempo and pitching up or down) I know almost every function of the MPC3000 but im new to it, im used to kontakt and nuendo and in kontakt, chopping is just a click away by zonin, etc.. The thing is i've seen a few established producers sample things on the 3000 and right away are hitting the pads and setting the start points quickly, every loop of a pad shuts down after the next one comes in. They do it so quickly it seems like all those steps of the cutoff, copy, rename were done by themselves, like zoning or some shit... if it's just time and gettin quick at it let me know.. at least I hope the way I'm choppin is the quickest way... |
