| Gear Head | no synths or samples, well that means any song that uses a keyboard, becuase keyboards are nothing but stored samples of the instruments in its sound bank. I doubt from a contempary stand point if that exists, if you look at any credits from the 80's forward, you will find "keyboards" listed as in instrument used... Myabe you don't mean this technical, maybe you mean a hip hop song that has only live instrumentation, meaning no samples of previous recorded/released songs. |

| Has anyone ever seen the cover band the 17th Floor? They are awsome. They play everything live. They usually play college towns, but have traveled all over.

LMAO............. Yo man...i know dude said this was nice but wow..and i'm just being honest....this was NOT that good at all...the drummer was behind the beat..and the guitar licks were drownin out the voice...but the worst part here The vocals.....wow..whoever is singing is waaaay off pitch..and the emceeing here is awful..there is no tone, the flow is offbeat and the lyrics are whiny....LMAO@the sung adlibs at the end...the mix aint that great either..sounds to dry and bland..no edge to it.. keep at it tho

| I have been doing stuff with Talib Kweli for his new record, and the tracks are great. Been doing a bunch of stuff... live stuff. Mostly with the Fyre Dept (adam deitch, and erik krasno) and they are great. It sounds like samples, but it isnt. On one of the singles I worked on, Norah jones sings the hook, and it is killing... the song is called "break a day." That song has the sample pulled out most of the time. We re-did everything in the track with live instruments. There is a lot of stuff like that, that I tracked live stuff to the looped/sampled stuff to be able to pull the sample and retain the vibe... It is gonna be a great record. The stuff I did for Rahzel was like that as well... |
