| jay-z - song cry, bass-question the bass is kinda mellow with no attack, but it still feels kinda soulish and is getting its shine in the mix, i would like to know some kind of hints/tips or trilogy-patches that can get me that kind of sound, please listen to the track and you know what i mean one, fredrik |

| Lives for gear | just listened to a MP3 of it.... the bass sounds good because: 1: the kick is EQ'd out of the way of the bass line. 2: the compression is pretty much on point.

| okey cool, would you guess that they have bussed the bass and kick together for some "gelling"-compression after the eq? maybe its a sampled bass from the sample in the song |
