mpd 24 low volume!!!

so i have been using my mpd24 for a long time but when i switched to logic about 5 months ago i noticed the volume was low when it came to drums. when i go to use reason i noticed it in there aswell. i must not have noticed all the years of using reason, but its a problem there too. when i hit drums it sound ok, but when i hit the pads with full level it knocks clearly. in logic though the volume is very low and in reason its not low, but it doesnt really knock as much as full level.

in logic i have my mpd24 set up as plug and play. never really went into setting and configured my mpd. should i do that? also does anyone know what my problem may be?

There should be a Full Level button below the screen, hit that all your drums will be loud at one velocity despite of how hard you hit the pad.

Another thing, MPD is just a controller. If the volume is low, turn the drums up in the plug-in or whatever you are controlling with an mpd.

Sounds like logic may have a different default velocity response curve then reason. Not sure how to change this in logic but in fl studio you can adjust the global midi velocity response curve manually.

If you push the Full Level button on the mpd24 it will give you the maximum velocity all the time. That might help you for the time being.

There are 4 Velocity curve presets on the MPD also, I think they go ABCD. I have mine on C.

Thing is I don't want that. I want to be able to play it realistically. Play hit hats at different velocities to make it realistic and the kicks that way as well. It's just not loud enough from the start. With my midi keyboard it's fine.

Do you also use logic? I installed fatpads in my mpd yesterday, will changing the velocity curve affect it at all?

Paste a hit @ 127 velocity and turn up the track untill you have the desired volume. Erase it and play the pads velocity sensitive.
