Eps16 rack. What is really cool for?

My friend has had one in is home studio rack pretty much unused since 1943. Haha. He's moving and I'm gonna try and get it.

I already got a mpc2000xl, maschine, pt hd3, Roland fantom, novation bass station.

Never really used one. Any good or I got it covered above?

Just buy it already.
You need it. I dont know why but.. its gear. You must have it.
Serously though..its kinda like an ASR-10. No you don't actually need it, based on your setup. However... buy it anyway...

Haha, it is not a buy option. More like an extended loan.

16-bit, variable sampling rates from 11.2kHz to 44.6kHz

to use this feature, do i have to sample it or can i run it realtime?

Can i make it go lower than 16 bit?

From mem, its 16bit fixed. The various rates are sample rates set prior to sampling not real-time

Along with the S900/S950 the EPS16/ASR10 are the best hardware samplers ever IMO. (Ableton being the my fav software)

I was hoping to use it realtime like i use the Lo-Fi plug to lower sample rate. I dont make tracks alot myself, but when i do its like this LeoGoff3's sounds on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free With my style i think it might work cool in its lowest settings huh?

You wont be able to use the sample rates in real time-just the natural path through sampler effect and the fx.BUT you WILL discouver using the sampler with pads or midi keyboard a lovely nuance that WILL lead to an interesting musical experience.Playing around with envelopes and the filter ectectect.listening to your tunes id think it was right up you street.Sequencers worth messing with too.

edit-love that '..... ......... ........' cut...

I had the original EPS until I sold it a year ago. They're great sounding machines if you can get beyond chopping samples on them especially when teamed with mpcs. If you're a hardware guy to me these are the best samplers around to use with an mpc

One of the two bottom left square buttons will turn on and off monitoring audio. On the rack 16 anyways. The 13 bit eps only monitors in record mode i think.
