808 again and again

hi. just wondered how hit-boy get this 808 that punchy ??
Jay-Z & Kanye West - Niggas In Paris (Instrumental) - YouTube
i usually need some other kick drum layered with my 808 to make it punchy and present in the mix but in this case its only the 808 that sounds this way...

put it louder in your arrangement and mix around it like you would a kick in a dance mix that will then give the 808 focus as it will be perceived to be (apart from vox) the focal point of the track.

If it's a timbre issue changing the sample would be best but with it being an 808 that isn't going to do much difference so perhaps put a couple of paralell chains on different faders to accent certain aspects of the 808's envelope you'd like to pull out in your arrangement

That would kind of simulate what certain producers do with multimicing techniques putting certain aspects of say a kick on different faders and processing them individually to find a collective balance that keeps cohesion in your arrangement/instrumental

Just a suggestion
