I've always thought Kendrick sounded similar to 3k.
I guess it's confirmed that 3k is one of his biggest influence.
Kendrick just dropped the album of the year.
I hope he wins a grammy.

The production on maad city is awesome, was gonna make a thread about it, I just didn't wanna promote more piracy (I pre-ordered mine, but couldn't wait...)
The main thing that sticks out to me about the mix, is it seems like EVERYTHING is stereoized somehow. It's a pleasure to listen to in headphones, very smooth.

If Kendrick is the best rapper alive then hip-hop is in a sad state. i liked his section 80 mixtape and i also like his new album. His performance on Jimmy fallon was borderline boring. The way Kendrick says things is actually doper than what he is saying. Now the radio is trying to force swimming pools upon us which is far from Kendricks best song. I can see if getting for commercial as aftermath looks to make him the next Drake.

i don't think stan was produced by dre, as far a lamar im more interested in the new Xzibit album.. lamar's songs are kinda boring, and while swimming pools doesn't have as much lyrical content to make it his greatest song its the most catchiest non-sleepy song i've heard from him so far.

I heard the album last night. I really liked the intro, and I get the andre 3000 comparison. But the rest was meh, imo. I kept skipping through and couldn't really find any other songs I liked. I think I liked #4 too, but wasn't feeling the rest. It had too dark a vibe and not enough groove in any of the other tracks for my taste. Just kind of bland. Not hating, just my review of it.

It's a dope ass track to me cus I relate to it.
It wasn't meant to be a crazy exaggerated story. It's his life, I guess you can either relate or you don't.
The things he did was only because he was with his homies, or else he wouldn't have done those things.
The Art of Peer Pressure... That's dope as hell.
Poetic Justice was wack.. my 2 fav rappers on a song and they made a wack one smh

What are you saying that is so hard to understand?
And you doubt Kendrick has ever broken into someone's house based on what?
Do you know him?
If he was trying to make a fake story song about doing crime, dont you think he would choose something more crazy than breaking and entering?
You sound dumb as hell

Or maybe cus you cant explain what's so hard for me to understand.
You got some kind of secret "hip hop" knowledge that Drake fans cant comprehend?
