Hiring writing teams?

Im in the process of starting a local label but i want to hire a writing team of emcees to write for my artists

Has anyone seen this and if so are the writers signed by the label as writing team or is it normally just paid out if the song ends up being used officially?

People use writes all the time. A lot of the writers make it big eventually then u end up having to find new ones. Example: neyo, Keri Hilson used to write for beyonce, nipsey hussle used to write for snoop lion.

I would think u would only pay the writer if you decide to use his song. But that's a contract u would have to work out with him/her about. But at the same time, how much they get paid is gonna be the turn around. Cause if they only get paid per song used with all their writing I'm sure they're not going to sell it for super cheap.

Any MC should be utterly ashamed if someone else is writing their lyrics for them!

I know part of being an MC is writing, but I always thought Hip Hop would be better off if folks stuck to what they were good at. Some performers are not good writers & vice versa. Why not divide the labor in those cases?

It's no different than producers who don't mix, engineer, write or play instruments.

In my opinion writing is the main attribute to a good MC, lyrics should be ultimately what an MC is judged on. An MC who doesn't write his own lyrics is no MC at all.

It is very different than a producer who doesn't mix and master. Lyrics are at the core of what an MC does, mixing and mastering can be somewhat specialist areas.
